Born in Cherry Hill, NJ, violinist Abigail Hong is currently pursing her master’s degree at The Juilliard School as a Dorothy Delay Scholarship recipient with Catherine Cho. She graduated from the New England Conservatory with her bachelor’s degree as the Presser Foundation Scholar of her class. A dedicated chamber musician, Abigail has won top prizes at the Fischoff and Plowman Chamber Music Competitions.

An equally avid educator, Abigail is a Morse Teaching Artist Fellow at the City College Academy of the Arts and the Thurgood Marshall Lower Academy School as well as a Fellow with the Music Advancement Program at The Juilliard School Pre-College Division. She served as Music Coordinator for the non-profit organization, Music For Food, bringing musicians to the Women’s Lunch Place, a day shelter in Boston.

Abigail has a strong passion for contemporary music and served as Concertmaster of the Lucerne Festival Academy and Spoleto Festival Orchestras. This summer she will return to Lucerne and Spoleto as well as the Olympic Music festival, premiering many works by composers such as Rebecca Saunders and Michael Abels.  

She has also performed at the Taos School of Music, Yellow Barn, Music@Menlo, Pablo Casals, and Norfolk Music Festivals as well as with A Far Cry Chamber Ensemble, The Charleston Symphony, The New Haven Symphony, New World Symphony, and Symphony in C. Ms. Hong currently plays a Mario Miralles violin and Benoit Rolland bow, both on generous loan through the Maestro Foundation.
